See Why So Many Couple's Are Choosing Twin Lakes

Engagement season has just finished, which means wedding season has officially arrived. Here at Twin Lakes, we know that couples are getting engaged all year round, however, during the holidays (aka Thanksgiving through Valentine’s Day) proposals are at their peak! Here in Texas, there are hundreds of options when it comes to a wedding venue. We understand that picking the perfect place for your wedding can be stressful.

When it comes to you picking a venue, the first question you should ask yourself is “what kind of bride am I going to be?” Knowing the answer to this question, means that you know what is most important to you on your big day. Just as the day you met your fiancé, you need to remember that before you fall in love, you need to get to know each other. This is the same concept when it comes to picking your venue. You must get to know the area before you fall in love with it.

Since we know y’all are looking for that place to make all your dreams come true, grab your fine-ole fiancé, a glass of wine, and let me tell you why so many couples have been choosing Twin Lakes to become a part of their dream wedding day:

#1 The View for Our Ceremony Area Is Indescribable

Let me paint you a picture. As your guests walk into your ceremony area, they are greeted by two doors leading them down an aisle way which shows a picture-perfect pond with a fountain that glistens in the sunlight and flowing grass that moves like waves in the wind.

No matter where your guest is seated, no matter if they are tall or short, your guests will be able to see you and the rest of your bridal party during the entire ceremony. Their seats all face the middle aisle and you become the focal point as you reach the stairs. As you walk up the stairs to meet the love of your life, your closest friends and family will never forget the way your dress sparkled in the sunlight, all the way up to meet your officiant and future husband. Most importantly, all your guests can see the look on your fiancé’s face as those doors open for you to come down the aisle (not just those who sit in the middle).

After the ceremony, you all move on with your night. BUT just as the sun is setting, your photographer comes to get you and your new husband to take sunset pictures up by the pond, or down by the windmill. You can see all the beautiful colors that help to embody the West Texas land. Between all the purples, blues, pinks, and oranges, you and your husband finally get a moment of peace and quiet for the first time all day before returning to your guests.

You then get to go back to your reception and continue dancing the night away. Just as your guests are lining up for your exit, you get to reminisce the entire day with your husband and be alone for one last time. You walk up together to the gazebo facing over the pond and windmill, while candles romantically follow you up the path. Then, you get your last dance together before you leave and you’re on your way to start a new life.

Now tell me - how’s that for a vision of a dream come true? And I’m just getting started. (P.S. your photographer will love this wide-open space for a myriad of photo ops.)

#2 Twin Lakes Is in A Prime West Texas Location

Twin Lakes is located about 15 miles from any larger city in any direction. We are secluded, yet still close enough to a town that can accommodate our needs. Being out in the country, it takes you away from the busy city life that is loud and robust.

Out here we can see the stars and there’s not another building in sight that’ll take that beautiful sunset view away. At Twin Lakes, we consider ourselves the perfect hidden oasis and haven for guests to enjoy a nice getaway that isn’t hundreds of miles away.

Again, our landscaping holds so many opportunities for your photographer to find the perfect spot for any picture you are dreaming of. All our couples are different. This means that they have different styles, such as: rustic, elegant, whimsical, or simple. Here at Twin Lakes, there are so many locations that can help create your perfect space.

#3 Twin Lakes Family-Owned and Operated

It all started when…

Now you may be wondering to yourself, or maybe you aren’t, “who is writing this blog? Is it the owner of Twin Lakes or some paid publicist?” Neither! My name is Brittney and I am the owner’s (Jane and Brad) daughter. I didn’t plan on working for my parents. However, when I had my baby girl in February, I was given an opportunity that I couldn’t turn down. That was to quit the job that I had worked for and gone to school for and then come to work for my mom so I could spend more time with my daughter. The thing is - the story of Twin Lakes isn’t about me. It’s about my parents.

Never in her wildest dreams did my mom think that her idea, of a wedding and event venue, would take off as it has. Thirty years ago, my parents built their first home on their farm; the farm that had been in my dad’s family for many years. My dad’s father passed away when he was 8 years old and his dream was to follow in my grandfather’s footsteps. They raised two out of the three of us kids on this farm, so calm and relaxed, allowing us the freedom and tranquility of a country life. Where the sunsets are so breathtaking, and the peacefulness is amazing.

A few years ago, my parents thought they should move out of the small town of Ropesville. After 12 years, they had decided that, for convenience, to move to the big city of Lubbock. None of us realized how busy it would be and the noise - oh my! After two years of city life with my dad traveling back and forth with planting and stripping cotton, the country life called us back home. You can take the person out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the person. So, they built a home in the middle of a grown-up pasture where our family’s roots first started. That’s when my mom began to toy with the idea of something she had thought about for years; a wedding venue. My younger brother was still in school, so they were still very busy with farming and school activities but then the day came when our he graduated, and my parents became empty nesters.

It was then that my mom knew what she was going to do. My parents talked to builders, landscapers, and concrete companies. They drew her dream on paper and then it happened; our venue was then in action. As we all watched it grow and it was finally finished, it was time to open our doors. We opened Twin Lakes in March of 2018 and ever since then, we have gotten to know so many wonderful couples and their families as they become a part of our family.

Somehow, we have had a connection with each couple that has booked a wedding by either knowing my siblings, friends of friends, or a family from years past. This was God’s plan and we thank him and are truly blessed for what he has provided. Now, here we all are. Twin Lakes is operated by our entire family. Even the newest member of Twin Lakes, Bryer, got to go to Dallas Market and help purchase décor! The others who help us (such as Trish, Ron, Josh, Seth, and many others) have not only become close friends but apart of the family as well.

#4 We Offer A Full-Day Rental

When you begin looking for a wedding venue, you may notice that you have set hours. Meaning, you must go in at a certain time to set up. This doesn’t leave much time for you to truly enjoy your day. Here at Twin Lakes, we are all about convenience. We offer you the FULL day of your wedding, all to yourself. You come in at 9 AM and the place is yours until 11:59 PM. We do not double book wedding days! When you book a date with us, that day is strictly for you and your wedding party.

Do you want to hear something even more amazing? A couple of months out from your wedding date, we may even offer for you to rent out the day before your wedding, as well! So, if no one has booked another event on the day before your Saturday wedding, then you can go ahead and book the day before. This means that you then get from 3 PM to 9 PM the day before to decorate, rehearse, and even have a rehearsal dinner! THEN you get to come in the following morning! This helps to create less stress on a strict timeline for such a big and important day! You can come in that morning with your girlfriends, enjoy a breakfast with some coffee or mimosas and start getting ready without having to worry about the timeframe!

#5 Twin Lakes Has Accommodating Size & Affordable Pricing

We may not be the biggest wedding venue in the Lubbock area; however, we are far from the smallest! We can accommodate up to 225 guests inside, with additional seating outside. If weather permits, we can hold up to 250 guests inside and outside. We offer an open-air space that can entertain everyone and everything! We have oversized games, an outside and inside dancefloor, two outdoor drinking silos, an indoor bar, and a full patio area that can be either open or enclosed.

Twin Lakes is considered a barn. However! We think of ourselves a timeless-blank canvas. This means that you make the space the way you want it based off décor and colors! I have seen the venue in many lights. It can be rustic, elegant, and romantic; yet, we still have a laid-back and relaxing setting.

Do you want to know the best part of all these details? THE PRICE! First, we have no hidden fees. We are an open book and Twin Lakes will never throw something at you that you either did not want or did not know about. Secondly, we didn’t join the wedding business to take money away from those who have worked so hard for it. We understand how hard times can truly be.

When my parents opened Twin Lakes, it was to help others have their dream day without having to sell the family farm to make it happen. My mom’s calling wasn’t about money. She wanted to help people on one of the biggest days of their life and she truly enjoys watching the joy enter other people’s lives (even if it’s just for one day).

Well, are you guys intrigued yet? Visit our website, Facebook page, or even Instagram page to find out more information. Like I said, we are an open book and you can find most answers you have on the website! If you have any other questions, then please, feel free to email/call us. When you are ready come out and tour the venue and see the beautiful views for yourself, then you can put in a request for a tour on the website, as well.

‘Till next time, my friends!

Stay blessed and be kind, Britt
